Grab your favorite mug if you are planning to use a microwave or a small pot if you are going the healthier route.
Pour a cup of your favorite non-dairy milk. I like almond or coconut but you can use what you like. If you like your warm drinks on the thin side add a little water before heating.
Throw in 1 tablespoon of raw organic cacao powder. If you want a super chocolatey drink you can add more but be aware you will definitely need more sugar as well.
If you're using a microwave, set it for a minute and thirty seconds. If you're heating on the stove, put your milk and cacao in your pot and bring it to a rolling boil.
Add sugar to sweeten. Very sugary drinks, hot or cold, aren't my thing and this is supposed to be a healthier version of hot chocolate so I just used a tablespoon of raw organic cane sugar. You can also use whatever sweetener you prefer like honey or agave.
